Instant Rava upma
Visit our website: http://www.rajathifamilykitchen.com/ Like, Comment and Subscribe our YouTube Video: http://bit.ly/subscribetoRFK Ingredients - 1 cup of rava (semolina) - 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Urid Dhal - 1/2 onion chopped - Curry leaves - 1 Green chilli chopped finely - Small piece of ginger finely chopped - Oil - about 2 tbsp - Salt to taste - Cashew nuts / other nuts for extra taste (optional) Method 1. Turn on the stove and add about 2 tbsp of oil 2. Add the mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds start popping, add the the urid dhal. 3. Once the urid dhal starts turning into a golden brown colour, add all the other ingredients (onion, chilli, ginger, curry leaves) 4. Mix well until the onion turns golden brown. 5. Add cashew nuts or any other nuts of your choice. 6. Add salt to taste and mix. 7. Add the rava to the pan and keep frying until it turns into a golden brown colour. 8. Turn off the stove. The instant upma preparation is ready. 9. Store in a air tight container. When you want to make upma instantly: - boil 2 cups of water. When the water is boiling, add this instant upma preparation and mix well. Turn the flame to low heat and close with a lid. Leave for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, delicious upma is ready to be served. A very handy tip and is useful when you have unexpected visitors or when you are coming back home really tired.
